Hi, I’m Dr. Adam Basner and I’m a board-certified plastic surgeon. In this video, I’m going to talk to you about necklifts, one of my most favorite procedures. I can’t tell you how many people I see who are bothered by their neck – loose skin, fatty excess, bands of muscle which hang down. While these people may have other issues going on, that’s not their main concern, they really just want to treat their neck. Or, really maybe they are interested in treating other things but they’re afraid of being “operated” on and only want to treat their neck at this time. If that’s you, a neck lift is a great procedure. Let’s get one thing out of the way, which is a major concern for everyone interested in a neck lift, a neck lift will not change your appearance to others. No one will know you had this done. If you want to see what you would look like with a necklift simply go to the mirror and go like this. Notice when I do this my face does not change. This is what you will look like with a necklift. Anatomically, there are three main things we treat with a neck lift. The first is loose skin, the second is any fatty excess that may be in the neck and the third is loose muscles which develop over time. You know you have loose muscles if you see those lines coming down your neck that many people get as they get older. One of the best things about a neck lift is that all the incisions are hidden. There is a tiny incision in the crease underneath your chin where just about all of us have had stitches when we fell as a kid and no one ever sees it. And then the other incisions go behind the ear. Again, something that no one will ever see and it’s easily hidden by your hair and your ear itself. If you are interested in a procedure that will have invisible incisions that will completely correct your neck and will not change your appearance to others and will be completely invisible to them then a neck lift is the right procedure for you. If you are interested please contact my office and we’d be happy to arrange a personal consultation so that we can discuss it in more detail. Thank you.
